K Parrish & Son
This is a third generation family run farm. First established in 1932 with Ken Parrish cropping 113 Hectares.
Over the years the land farmed has increased to 934 Ha of which 890 Ha is cropped in a traditional cropping rotation, including wheat, spring barley, spring oats, peas & beans.
The farm is also in Countryside Stewardship Scheme and SFI, which involves grass floristic margins, hedge planting plus food sources for wild birds.
The farm adopts a combination of minimum tillage and zero tillage techniques for crops establishment, which increases earth worm populations, better soil structure, less soil erosion and less CO2 emissions.
In 1992 we started our first conversion of redundant pig buildings into commercial light industrial units. Since then demand has been such, that all the traditional farm buildings have been sympathetically renovated and let with the addition of new buildings for the purpose of letting.
We are dedicated to sustainable farming practices, that reduce our environmental impact. Solar Panels to generate our own electricity and innovative 450,000 litres rainwater harvesting, we significantly lower our carbon footprint. Ensuring that we grow food in an eco-friendly and efficient manner.
